About Waggerbonds
Why I Created This Site
During the pandemic, I found it challenging to stay in touch with my niece and nephew as they live in New York, and I live in Philadelphia. I initially started a weekly storytime Zoom call with them, but as things got busy, I started Waggerbonds to continue the storytelling.
I’ve noticed that the website has now started getting additional visitors, so I thought I would lay out the goals I had when creating these stories.
Foster Imagination
In today’s world of abundant visual content, I intentionally created these stories with limited still pictures in the audio version and no pictures in the written version. The idea is for the reader/ listener to imagine the adventures.
Promote Reading
I’ve encouraged my niece and nephew to both listen to the story and also read it. As long as they develop an interest in reading, they will never be bored.
Learn About Countries
My wife and I are avid travelers, and our travels have enhanced our knowledge of different cultures more than anything else. I hope to foster that curiosity and understanding of different parts of the world with the reader/listener.
